I can only see the good in you
Do you believe there's good in me?
Thinking only in imperatives
Feeling so happy
Happy to be free in soul and mind
Unembarrassed and de-stigmatised
I've abandoned my stereotypes
And now I'm running like a child to catch you
So you bought a little pen and you made a little note
And we had a lot of fun for not much money
And the note that you wrote was a bad idea
And we laughed so hard and laughed so freely
Maybe nothing matters in the end
Did you think that it would freak me out?
Do you remember what it felt like right away?
You tore a new one in the long day's heart
You captured meaning in a way no meaning stays
I can't get it out of my head
And the more I try to fall asleep the deeper it embeds
I wanna go to —
I'm tryna get to —
I only wanna —
I think I need to —
Whatever did we wish upon ourselves?
What did we wish upon ourselves?
Something always gets you in the end
Did you think that it would freak me out?
Do you remember what it felt like right away?
You tore a new one in the long day's heart
You captured meaning in a way no meaning stays
And did you think that we could ride this out?
That we'd go back to how it all once was one day?
You cast a shadow on the long day's arm
You fractured meaning in a way that can't be saved
One of my favourite albums ever! Gives a lot of beautifully strong emotional vibes. I'll be listening to this masterpiece till the end of time burtalseitan
Frankly, I go for bedroom recordings. Why... well, in such a setting with (usually) limited technical resources, the only way out is real good songwriting! And Tom Milsom aka "Gemini Eye" evidently has plenty of the required talent. "Alien Home" is a fun album with great lyrics and clever, ever-surprising song ideas, demonstrating that even a most tasty meal doesn't need more than simple ingredients. More favorite tracks besides "Home": "Charlie's Birthday Song", "A Little Irony", and "West Street". Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
